I love love LOVE Coldplay. I want to see them in concert, but I’m sure the tickets are sold out now. Shoo, I can’t afford to go. =( Have to save money to get a new apartment. But yeah…I love Coldplay. My favorite band. Linkin Park would have to be my next. This isn’t a real post. I just wanted to put this playlist up. =)
Great schtuff.
I was cruising around Digg.com and came across a very interesting site:
Gandhi’s Top 10 Fundamentals for Changing the World.
1. Change yourself. “As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world – that is the myth of the atomic age – as in being able to remake ourselves.”
2. You are in control. “Nobody can hurt me without my permission.”
3. Forgive and let it go. “The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
4. Without action you aren’t going anywhere. “An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching.”
5. Take care of this moment. “I do not want to foresee the future. I am concerned with taking care of the present. God has given me no control over the moment following.”
6. Everyone is human. “It is unwise to be too sure of one’s own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.”
7. Persist. “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
8. See the good in people and help them. “Man becomes great exactly in the degree in which he works for the welfare of his fellow-men.”
9. Be congruent, be authentic, be your true self. “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
10. Continue to grow and evolve. ”Constant development is the law of life, and a man who always tries to maintain his dogmas in order to appear consistent drives himself into a false position.”

“You have to be the change you want to see in this world.” – Gandhi
Well, in this case, I have to be the change I want to see in my world…my life. =)
I’m am sooo sick of doing nails as a living. It’s great money, but I’m just sooo bored of it. All the steps of being a nail technician are repetitive, which makes me feel like I’m at a dead end. Almost as if I have no brain. I have an urge to learn new things. Learn things that I’ve always wanted to learn more about. I want no more of stanky feet, picky ass customers that think they know everything, my hands being sooo dried out from scrubing them down all the time, and….man, I could go on and on. I am very thankful though, that it is a great paying job. I mean, I can afford to live on my own and then some. But I know I can do so much more with my life. I want more…
If you read my profile (about section), you’d know that I haven’t finished high school. So I plan to get my GED and go to college. I want to get into Interior Design. I really really want to. And I will make it happen. It will be hard, and take me a long time to finish since I need to support myself (no parents to help) and to pay off my debt, but it will be worth it.
I’m really looking forward to this part of my life that I want to change. A huge deal. I’ve been doing nails for about 5-6 years. So done with it. Doing nails is a great back-up though. I used to hate when my parents push me to do nails during the summer break and tell me how its a good job to fall back on. Six years later, I find that they were right. =) Funny how that works.
Busy guy…apparently
Earlier today I was driving around with my man during traffic hour. As we came to a stop, we saw this man pretty much next to us open his Hummer door and spit. At first I thought it was like a loogi (gross), but he spit out a bunch of liquid. Turns out…he was brushing his teeth. Weird.
Thought I share that. =P
brushes anyone?
I walked into Michael’s (craft store) the other day to get a basket to put together a gift. Like always, everytime I enter a store, I go in on a mission to get one thing, but end up getting a bunch others. I went down the paint aisle and just couldn’t take my eyes off the different brushes, paints, and canvases. I was a kid in the candy store. =) I have some acrylic paints I play with from time to time, but I’m not a serious painter. When it comes to art, I do more graphic design and of course, nail art and cosmetics. So I was gonna get more acrylic paints, but decided to get watercolors instead. =)

My first painting of a girl…let alone a person.
Oh yes, it’s poppin’
A few days ago, while I was getting ready for work, I realized I forgot my makeup bag at my man’s place. That meant I had to use my back-up makeup. Before bareMinerals Foundation, I used a pressed powder from NARS and a concealer by MAC. Both are great light-weight products, but no comparison to bareMinerals. Even though I barely used any of the product, it still felt heavy on my face. So that day, I went to work missing my bareMinerals. It’s so good to me. “I will never leave you again.” =P
Recently, I went to Sephora on a mission: to look for a new lipgloss/color to fall in love with. I spent 40 minutes walking around the store trying all different brands for a nice pinky-purple-spring color. For the past year, I’ve been using NARS lip gloss in Chihuahua. It goes with everything, which is why it’s my favorite. NARS has the best feels-right-on-my-lips lip gloss. It’s not crazy sticky yet, its not too slippery wet. After wearing it for a few, it doesn’t leave that nasty white ring around the inside of your mouth either. Unfortunately, NARS didn’t have the color I so desired. I was a little disappointed, but damn determined. =) Especially since I was at the store long enough to have five employees ask me if I needed any help and a few coming back to ask me again.
I really liked Lancome’s Juicy Tubes…I like the way they feel, but again, didn’t have the colors I wanted.
After using test wands, lots of tissues, and makeup remover, I found the one. Stila lip glaze in Pomegranate. I want to get it in Raspberry too, but later. It’s such a playful & sexy color. =)
Ding ding ding ding!
When I purchase my new luv…I received a sample product of my choice since I’m a beauty member of Sephora. Silly me…I just had to get another lip gloss: Sephora’s Lip Gloss in Precious Pink. Turns out that I really like it too.
NARS, Lancome, Stila, and Sephora. My favorite lipgloss brands.
Ready to leave here…
My man and I went to Orlando like a week and a half ago. I loved it. I had a great time. We went to Disney World Epcot, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Universal CityWalk, and Busch Gardens (Tampa). I would have to say that Epcot was my favorite out of the theme parks we went to that week. You can google what that park features. I’m too lazy to type it out. =P Universal Studios would have to be my least favorite. I didn’t want to go on any rides there because I didn’t want to take the risk. I get sick on those one rides where you sit in a moving box or whatever..and you’re in front of a screen, where the “action” is suppose to become real. I’m sure some of the rides aren’t like that…but like I said, I didn’t want to take the risk. I hate rides like those. So all we did was walk around that theme park. Islands of Adventure was pretty cool. I love water rides so we tried to find them all, but couldn’t. Busch Gardens was cool too cause it was like a zoo and an amusement park in one. Besides the theme parks, we just tried to enjoy the weather and city. Walked around a lot. Played a lot of mini-golf, which I find myself pretty good at. Explore the city.
I find the more I travel, the more I don’t like Michigan.
