I love watching The Food Network Channel. My favorite shows would have to be Ace of Cakes and Food Network Challenge (Cakes). I love cake and I love art. I could watch these two shows over and over. Oh yeah, I also like Cake Boss, which I believe is on TLC or Bravo channel.

I watched this one episode of Food Network Cake Challenge. The theme was Fashion Cakes. They contestants had to make fashionable cakes that reflects the clothing brand, Alice + Olivia. Then rookie challenger, Alexandria Pellegrino won. =) I love love LOVE her decorating style. I’ve seen pretty much all the cake shows, and she is my favorite decorator.

This isn’t the cake she decorated for the Food Network Challenge, but you can get the idea of her style. I love how she paints directly on the cake and has model add-ons too. Kinda like mixed media. The figures she makes are absolutely gorgeous. I’m sure she does other figures, but I think she really favors fashion from the 18th century. I love watching movies and the costumes of that era. I wanna dress up like that one day. ^_^ I wouldn’t know where I would wear it to. Lol. Probably Halloween.
Anyway…
from the look of the first picture, she seems like a very stylish person herself.

I would have to say that my dream cake (for a big occasion) would be by her or Charm City Cakes.

For the dotted anchor, I used a yellow craft paint with a metal dotter, but you could use a pointed toothpick. I used craft paint because if I mess up, I just wipe/brush off the paint with water/alcohol. Just make sure your nails are pretty dry before you put the design on.

For the “rope” I used a sparkly silver striping paint.
