Sweet.

This look doesn’t have to be for the holidays. If you switch colors up, it could a cute everyday design. This is real easy too.
Inspiration: candy canes. Yummy. I should have done the red ones with the yellow and green in it. Those are my favorite. I think it’s like a tropical fruit flavor? I want one.
The pictures are a little blurry, sorry. :]

021220092300
One coat base coat. Two coats color.

021220092301
On a diagonal, paint on a sheer pink.

021220092303
Overlapping the pink halfway, polish on a sheer blue.

021220092304
Totally optional, but it’s the holidays. Vertically, glitter on half the nail.

021220092305
With silver striping paint, outline the blue polish. So here, I have four lines of silver.

021220092309
On every other silver line, I went over it with a white, and added a small line by my cuticles.

021220092312
Here, I just added a deeper blue next to the silver lines to give more depth. Finish off with a top of coat.

Hope you like it! Try with with other colors.

I’ll have some non-holiday looks just for the heck of it & for those of you who think these are chessy. Lol. I’ll show you ones that were really popular with me, the ones my clients asked for a lot.
^-^

HOLLIdayDecoration.

Holly is a known for an Amercian Christmas decoration. Whenever I’ve made Christmas cards, I would always draw holly leaves on the envelop. So I thought, why not on your nails? I didn’t exactly draw holly leaves on my nails, but they’re still cute.
Inspiration: holly trees. :]

021220092314
One coat base coat. Two coats of a white nail polish. You can use an opaque white or a sheer white, and everything in between. Just make sure its a matte white. An opaque white can be hard to polish, so don’t worry about it getting all over your cuticles. Just make sure you paint it on streak-free [sometimes you need three coats] and clean your cuticles with a brush dipped in polish remover. Lol, I didn’t paint so well here. =P

021220092315
Paint on silver polish diagonally.

021220092316
With a light pastel green striping paint, draw a few lines from the silver corner out.

021220092318
Do the same with gold striping paint. Overlap the green a little.

021220092335

021220092321
With a green, green striping paint, polish on the “holly leaves”

021220092327
I added more gold strokes. I could have avoided this step if I made the gold lines from before longer.

021220092328
Dot on three big red dots in the corner. A few smaller red and black dots randomly around the “leaves”. Finish off with a top coat.

OChristmasTree.

‘Tis the season!!! These are definitely holiday nails. I was going to draw a whole tree, but I thought that would look too much than it already does. Plus, drawing half a tree is much easier.
Inspiration: pretty obvious. :]

021220092336
One coat base coat. Two coats of a gold polish. This represents the top ornament [star] since I’m not drawing one.

021220092354

021220092337
Draw the tree with green or silver striping paint. Whenever I’m doing a specific shape, I draw it out with a silver or similar color before coloring it in.

021220092341
With a green polish, I painted the tree in. Try to stay within the lines, but it doesn’t have to be perfect.

02122009234
Outline the tree with black striping paint.

021220092345
With silver striping paint, I dotted curvy lines on the tree to represent tinsel.

021220092379
Dot on your ornaments! I think three colors is enough. You want to still see the tree underneath. Follow up with a topcoat.

TheOtherVee.

I pulled another all nighter/all morning-er/all day-er. It’s 2:14pm right now. I’ve been up since 4:45ish pm of yesterday? Around there. I’m trying to stay up because once again, I failed at changing my sleeping schedule. Beauty school starts in less than two weeks, and they start at 9:30am. That’s early for me. *yawn…I am sooo tired. But I must stay up! I say at least until 9pm. Think I’ll make it?
I better brew some coffee………

So, to keep my eyes from going in a coma, I made some nail designs [seven to be exact, took like 5-7 pictures of each design so I can make tutorials out of them] and I’ve been working on another vexel. Yeah, I know. I have wayyy too much time on my hands! I might as well take advantage of it now.

This vexel is of a friend of mine, Jenny Vuong [she's very artistic herself...known for her cakes within friends and their friends...etc]. I’ve made a vector of her last time. This time, I did a vexel of her. I wanted to show and see for myself how much I’ve improved. [There is a difference if you didn't know...between vector and vexel. I might have mentioned it. Look it up on google or whatever. I'm lazy to explain.]
The vector of her I did was almost exactly three years ago; it was my second attempt of vectoring. At the time, I thought it was amazing. Lol. Still is…kindaish [my own word].

She so purdy. :]

This one didn’t take me as long as my iKandee vexel. As you can see, the layers are ALOT simplier and the hair is kinda messy. Doing art on no sleep makes you just wanna finish it. So I kinda rushed. I liked how it turned out though. At first, I was going to make her look more realistic, but the lighting was making it hard for me, and I didn’t want to fuss with it. I’m glad I took a different approach.
Gosh, the hair is so messy. Lol. Ah wellz. I think the digi still looks like her. ???
Besides the skin and lighting, the sheer top she has on was the hardest to do for some reason. Lol. I decided to just layer in the shadows, outline and put a filter on it. Rendered fibers & Cross-Hatch Brush Strokes. Didn’t turn out too bad.
I love CS4. :]

WinterNails.

Those of you who live in the snow [glad I don't have to drive in that anymore! muahaha] and for those who just like snow/or want to see snow and haven’t…here is an easy, cute, & kinda kiddish nail design for ya.
Inspiration: Winter night/Snow.

021220092355
One thin coat of Base coat. Two coats of your favorite dark blue.

021220092362
Paint on a lighter shimmery/light blue on a diagonal. Give it a little swirl.

021220092365
Make some “wind” with silver striping paint/polish. You’re pretty much following the flow of the shimmery blue you just painted. In between the silver lines, I added some light blue lines too. Again, I like layers stuff. Just like my vexels [my digital artwork].

021220092376
In case you didn’t understand me.

021220092366
With white striping paint, draw on two asterik stars wherever you want. Just keep it on the shimmery blue part.

021220092367
Add silver and white dots randomly.

021220092370
Add yellow dots and some strokes of glitter on the “wind lines.”
