Games games games…

I only recently became a gamer. I’m not totally hardcore, but I play enough to call myself one. The games I like playing are action, action-role playing, action-adventure, shooter, survival horror, and music.

For the past six months I’ve been playing old and new games.
For Wii…The Legend of Zelda & the Twilight Princess and Mario Kart.
For PS3…Wet, LittleBIGPlanet, Resident Evil5, COD Modern Warfare 2.
For XBox360…Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero (3, Aerosmith, World Tour), Prince of Persia, Fable2, Halo3, Halo3 ODST, and DJ Hero.
For Nintendo DSLite…The Legend of Zelda & the Phantom Hourglass, Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, Prince of Persia

Out of all of those games, I played Zelda, Rockband2, Fable2, and Resident Evil 5 the most.

Rockband 2 is real fun. I just love the music selection and I keep buying more & more songs on Xbox Live. I was obsessed with Guitar Hero 3 two year ago, but not at the level I have for Rockband 2. One day I played RB2 for 11 hours straight. Lol. And no…I wasn’t playing that long ass setlist with 84 songs.
GH World Tour was good, but I think I’m just a straight up Rockband fan. I fell in love with it when I first played Rockband 1. The great thing that the newer GH (World Tour, GH5, Band Hero) games has over RB is the character creator. GH allows you to really create your own unique character with detailed customizations like how far apart are the eyes, how high the nose is, etc. I really like that about GH. Rockband already has set faces to choose from, which isn’t bad, but could be better. Other than that…I still love Rockband. GH is definitely harder with it comes to actually playing though, so if ya want a bigger challenge, go with GH games.
Worth buying? Definitely. =) I always crave for a Rockband fix every now and then.

Oh yeah…my GH guitar broke on me. I don’t feel like getting a new one. Therefore, I probably won’t be trying Band Hero either. I’m sure its great.

I love Zelda. I haven’t played alot of Zelda games (only three), but enough to love ‘em. I’ve played Zelda and the Minish Cap on Nintendo Gameboy years ago. That was the game that made me fall in love. I know there are way better Zelda games out there. I’ve only recently became somewhat of a gamer, now that I could afford it. Then I played Zelda & the Twilight Princess, then Phantom Hourglass. All three were fun, especially the Twilight Princess because it was on Wii. If you like Action-Adventure, I definitely recommend Zelda & the Twilight Princess. The other two are kinda kiddish, but still fun. The graphics on Twilight Princess are cool. I spent hours playing that game because I wanted to find everything (treasures) and beat everything.
Worth buying? I love Zelda, so I always think these games are worth it. So, yes. =P

Wet is pretty good, or at least what I played of it. I think I could get addicted to playing Wet if I wasn’t distracted with other games. =P It’s cool that you can run & jump while shooting & controlling two guns. The Quentin Tarantino style is pretty cool too. Why aren’t I playing this more? I should so I could give a better review. Lol. But so far, good. =)
Worth buying? I’ll get back to you on this one.

Prince of Persia on DS was annoying and so was Prince of Persia on Xbox 360. I didn’t finish both of them, because it simply didn’t hold on to me. The DS games was weak so I won’t even go there. And the Prince of Persia on the xb360 was way better, but still didn’t keep me long. I love puzzle type games, which was the fun part of Prince of Persia…collecting light seeds and all. But the fighting….I felt a little restricted on how I could fight back. I don’t know….just didn’t like the fighting scenes in that game. I got far on Prince of Persia because I liked collecting the light seeds, but the fighting was a little annoying. Maybe I need to play a different one? lol
Worth buying? Even though I haven’t beaten it, I think its a rent.

LittleBIGPlanet. Cute. Colorful. Innocent. It was fun for the first few minutes, but them I got really bored. I think it was because the BF & I started playing it after we played Halo3 and me playing Fable2. Lol. I wanted to kill something with my wooden sword in that game. Yeah…wooden sword, I know. But I guess that is why that game is rated Everyone. So this is a total “family” game. The characters are adorable though. But the BF & I regretted getting this game. This game was too “innocent” for me.
Worth buying? Sure…if you’re into games like this. For me…rent.

Halo3, ODST, Resident Evil 5, and COD Modern Warfare2 were all fun. I like playing with the BF on these types of games because I suck. I’m good, but not the best. CODMW2 is pretty badass, but it sucked that I couldn’t play Campaign mode with the BF, but usually Campaign modes are short. So I guess it isn’t too big of a deal. We really enjoy playing these games together. Another fun thing to do together. ^_^
Worth buying? Resident Evil, rent. Halo games…after playing CODMF2…rent or discount buy. CODMF2…buy.

Fable 2. I played this twice so far; it’s really easy. It’s a fun game to play because there’s paths you can take. You can be totally pure and good or corrupt and evil and everything in between (more fun to be evil). And your character’s appearance changes depending on what actions you take. Pretty cool. There’s plenty of weapons to choose from and some good special powers to learn.
I have to admit, I did do a cheat code to earn money. I would recommend anyone playing this game to do so, because earning money is a bitch in this…takes too long. The cheat code (google it) will alter your looks and status, but whatevers. You can always change it back.
I loved that you’re able to purchase missions on xbox live. There’s only two…Knothole Island and See The Future. To me, Knothole Island is more worth buying over See The Future.
I really loved this game. I heard there will be a Fable 3 in winter 2010. I sure hope so!
If there’s other games you know of like this, let me know. =)
Worth buying? No. It’s really easy, so rent it. If you want to buy the extra missions, then buy this game with a discount.

The newest game I got was Dj Hero. To be totally honest, it was fun at first, but it got boring. When I play a music game, usually I get addicted for a few weeks or more. This game….not so much. I played it three times and now I feel done. I regret buying it. I was at Target contemplating which game to get….Dj Hero or Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. So should have gotten Ninja Gaiden. I love hip-hop and electro music, but I just don’t know. This game just didn’t do it for me. I’m gonna try to sell it or give it away to  family.
Worth buying? Try it out first at places that let you like Best Buy. For me, nope. I totally regret buying it.

Mario Kart Wii is always fun. I didn’t like the “wheel” you can buy. I like playing is with the nunchuck instead.
Worth buying? Sure. If you ever have company over, it’s always fun to play this.

Pokemon games are cute. I think Pokemon games are the only role playing games I really played. I played one Final Fantasy game (XII) for a little bit, but I don’t like that style of fighting. Pokemon does that style of fighting, but you can skip the action. I want to try playing FF games more. I always loved the graphics on those games.

*sigh…I love video games. Me want more!!! Which ones? Some old ones and new ones:
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. (I don’t have a N64 though)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (I wonder if I can find my receipt to Dj Hero =P)
Assassin’s Creed 2
Left 4 Dead (1&2)
God of War (1,2,&3)
Dragon Age Origins
Metal Gear Solid 4

Games that the BF & I have that I want to get into:
Batman Arkham Asylum
Prototype
WET
